Imagery + Animation Golf + Architecture

Jingshan Lakes

This project gave us a fascinating insight into the life of a Golf Course Architect.

We received a call from ASGCA member Greg Letsche from the Ernie Els Design office in Florida, to speak about a potential project in China. A couple of days later Greg called us from Frankfurt airport to discuss our progress. A week later, we had another call to review some of the design features, this time from Singapore. The next time we heard from Greg, the day before presenting the design to his client, he was in Beijing. The following week we received an email from Saudi Arabia to say his presentation was a success and to thank us for a job well done. It seems a love of travel is a must have if you want to be a Golf Course Architect.

Whilst Greg was hopping from one country to another, we were busy creating an animation and renders for his proposed course. The plan was to showcase hole 15, which features a creek that runs from tees to green, bunkers inspired by Wentworth and a palette of deciduous and flowering trees.

Instead of a flyover from tee to green, we created a trailer style of animation, showing a selection of carefully curated shots of the hole capturing the key features and best views of the proposed design.
