Miklagard

Miklagard is amongst the top 100 courses in Europe and rated number 1 in Norway by Golf Digest, so we jumped at the chance to create some animations for the proposed redesign of the Robert Trent Jones II course.

The purpose of the animations was to present the designs to the membership and get them on board with the plans for the new practice area which includes a new two tier range.

If you are familiar with our work then you will know we are big advocates of the trailer – a ‘less is more’ style of animation showing a selection of the best views of a course – instead of the traditional tee to green flyovers you often see during televised golf championships.

However, sometimes you need both, which was the case for Miklagard.

The club wanted animations to be informative, and at the same time generate some excitement amongst the existing and potential members. First, we created flyovers for holes 9, 15 and 18 showing the full length of each hole. This allowed the members to see the proposed design from tee to green. Then we selected the best parts of these flyovers and combined them with animation of the practice range to create a 70 second trailer (featured at the top of the page). This was used to give the members a flavour of the project and capture their imagination for what was planned.
