Loraloma is a private residential community and part of the Thomas Ranch development.
The site covers 2,200 acres with more than half the land devoted to open space, including 40 miles of hiking and biking trails, and a golf course designed by David McLay Kidd.
The developer was interested in showcasing the golf course to make it one of the focal points of their marketing. That is where we came in.
The big challenge on this project was creating an animation that does justice to the site which is characterised by over two miles of river front, live oaks, rock outcroppings, ridges and ravines.
DMK’s approach to the project was to work with the lay-of-the-land, with as little disruption to the existing topography and native vegetation as possible. We worked in a similar way, trying to replicate the existing landscape as closely as possible.
The visuals we created have since appeared in a number of industry and international publications including GolfDigest, Forbes, Golf.com, Robb Report and many others.
The course is scheduled to open for preview play in late 2024 with a full opening in the spring of 2025.
