No sooner had we finished work on Cabot Barrens and Cabot Oaks, than we were invited to work on another project in their portfolio. Introducing Cabot Revelstoke.
If Florida is known for being relatively flat, then Revelstoke is quite the opposite. The golf course sits at the base of Mount MacKenzie overlooking the Columbia River with mountain vistas from every hole.
The course will take advantage of the natural features of the site, with impressive elevation changes, steep ravines, winding creeks, rock outcroppings and natural undulations of the terrain. In addition, the course will feature large greens, wide fairways, and bold bunkering.
The brief was no different to our previous work for Cabot. They didn’t want us to show the entire course, so the plan was to focus on a small selection of holes that would capture the essence of the golf course.
This project is the perfect example of our collaborative process and what it takes to create a successful animation. In particular, we worked closely with Course Architect Keith Cutten and Superintendent Bradley Allen on the details, from the colour of the sand in the bunkers to the amount of snow on the mountains.
Fun Fact
We’ve been waiting for the right project to use a bold soundtrack and if there was ever a golf course and landscape that warranted something different, then it is this one!
