Harris Kalinka are 10!
It’s been 10 years since Juris and I launched Harris Kalinka. Here’s a glimpse of our story in pictures. We’ve included our favourite image from each year, which we like to think shows we’re always getting better at what we do.
2005
- While still studying architecture in London, Andrew and Juris unofficially set up the company and start working on projects.

2006
- We officially set up offices in London and Riga.
- Janis, Martins and Arturs join Harris Kalinka – they’re still with us today.

2007
- Office trip to London.
- Martins (another one) joins us. (He’s since left, but we really hope he returns one day.)
Cadogan Square project in London for M Studios
2008
- Six months after a chance encounter with a golf course architect on a flight to Canada, we complete our first golf course animation.
Gloucester Place project in London for Tessuto Design
2009
- After the success of our first golf course animation we set up HK Golf to create animations for the golf industry.
- Office trip to Munich.
Weybrook Golf Club for Creative Golf Design
2010
- Our UK office moves from London to Brighton.
- Juris builds our first generation render farm, complete with custom air-conditioning unit.
The Barn project in Gloucestershire for HWO Architects
2011
- We visit Asia for the first time for the first of many golf industry exhibitions and conferences.
- We partner with Robert Trent Jones II to create animations for their pitch for the Olympic Golf Course in Rio.

2012
- On the back of successful projects in China, Amanda starts working for us, opening our satellite office in Beijing.
- We create animations for the Mission Hills Fantasy Course, possibly our craziest project ever.
- Ingus joins Harris Kalinka.

2013
- Andrew becomes a member of the Golf Course Consultants Association.
- The office Christmas party includes a curling competition.
Golf Resort in the Middle East for IDG and RTKL
2014
- We rebrand Harris Kalinka to include our golf and architecture work under one name.
- We move into our new office in Riga.
- Inese joins Harris Kalinka.
Aero Club project in Goodwood for State Of Craft
2015
- We exhibit at the China Golf Show in Beijing for the fifth consecutive year.
- We introduce bi-monthly massages for everyone in the office (to prevent back pain).
- Vijaceslavs joins Harris Kalinka.
- Martins (the other one) comes back!
Pacific Links National Golf Club in Beijing for Tiger Woods Design
The future …
We’re going to start by having a much deserved office road trip up the West Coast of America to celebrate our 10 years! Then we’re going to get back to work and make sure the next 10 years are even better than the last.
