Randy, who runs operations in China for VITA Planning and Landscape Architecture, Inc, wanted to present his client with an impression of some key holes to demonstrate the character of the course. In particular he wanted to show the treatment of the water’s edge, the wind-blown bunkers and the railroad ties.
He presented the images alongside his own plan drawings, so his client could clearly see the routing of the hole and reference the image to better understand the contouring, character and the likely view a golfer would have when playing the hole. Following a successful presentation for these key holes, the landscape concept was rolled out across the rest of the course.

Working in Asia has its own set of standards that tend to be higher than the Western world. We have found that our clients have higher demands and must clearly understand the design intent. This is the reason we use Harris Kalinka for these projects. VITA has the utmost confidence in Andrew and his team to meet even the tightest schedule, handle last minute changes, and still produce the most professional and stunning graphics we use.
